RDD Motorsports Ready For Rotax Grand Nationals

Kart Mini team looks in great shape to challenge for wins in three classes at upcoming national event

Deerfield Beach, FL – RDD Motorsports of Deerfield Beach, Florida, the exclusive North American importer of the Kart Mini chassis is heading into the 2010 US Rotax Grand Nationals taking place this weekend at New Castle Motorsports Park. The team will look to stay on top of their current string of podium finishes and solid results to post winning performances at the annual event. The team will be made of three regular drivers and one new guest driver to round out the group of four. This weekend marks the third trip to the mid west track for the RDD Motorsports team from South Florida. In April the team ran three drivers in the WSK North American Series. Just a few short weeks ago the Kart Mini team headed back to NCMP to run in the Rotax Pan American Challenge race. With loads of experience and miles under their belt, the team is looking to build on a season of solid momentum and excellent results.

“The season has gone very well for us so far. We started way back in early January with the Florida Winter and CKI Florida Cup,” comments RDD Motorsports owner Andre Serra. “Our guys like this track and we run well here. With two race events here so far in 2010 we have some good information to work from.”

In Mini Max it will be brothers Logan and Dalton Sargeant taking to the track. Both have been strong all season with Logan, the rookie driver, doing a great job as he takes on the bigger kart in 2010. In WSK action Dalton and Logan were able to grab podiums on both Saturday and Sunday with Dalton dominating the racing action. At the Pan Am event it was another strong run for the Mini Max drivers as they took three podiums in two days with Logan taking a pair of thirds on the weekend.

In Junior Max it will be team regular Sebastian Ordonez flying the yellow and black for RDD Motorsports. Sebastian is building on a great season that includes competing in the Skip Barber Series. This past weekend Ordonez took a
pole and two wins in Skip Barber Regional action at Road Atlanta. Both outings so far for Ordonez have been tough as he ran in two separate engine programs. In WSK North America action, running in the IAME Leopard Junior class, Ordonez was able to pull through with two top ten finishes on the weekend including a podium spot on Saturday. At the recent Pan Am event Ordonez would keep his Kart Mini chassis at the sharp end of the field for most of the weekend finishing the weekend with two top five results. In Saturday racing the talented 15 year-old took fourth and then on Sunday grabbed a second place finish to join the post races festivities.

New to the team is Darren Keane running in the Micro Max class. The Florida native has been racing in the very tough South Florida RMax Challenge and is looking forward to his first national event. The young Boca Raton resident will be in tough competition against a stellar Micro Max field. RDD Motorsports has won several Micro Max titles with the Kart Mini program and looks to see that success continue with Keane.

“It’s great to have a new driver under the tent for a big event like this,” continues Serra. “Darren will have his work cut out for him in Micro Max. All drivers are ready to go and we look forward to a good week of racing.”

The team is on-site for pre-event testing for the US Rotax Grand Nationals taking place at New Castle Motorsports Park on July 14 to 17. The team scored well in the 2009 US Rotax Grand Nationals and will look to take home more titles in 2010. The RDD Motorsports team will head back to Las Vegas for the SuperNats late in the year.
