RDD Motorsports Scores Big In Palm Beach

South Florida-based karting team heads just north and takes home two wins and four top fives

Deerfield Beach, FL – RDD Motorsports of Deerfield Beach, Florida, the exclusive North American importer of the Kart Mini chassis, headed to near by Palm Beach International Raceway for fall tune up event part of the regular PBIR racing program. The Kart Mini team used the event to continue development of the their 2010 program as they prepare for the upcoming winter series set to begin in January. PBIR will play host to round two of the famous Florida Winter Tour, attracting an international field of top-flight racers.

“The kids really like the track at Palm Beach and we wanted to get there for some practice,” comments Andre Serra, team manager for RDD Motorsports. “It has been a long season and it was nice to race near home and have some fun.”

The RDD Team covered the Mini Max field as Logan Sargeant, up from an amazing Rotax Micro Max season, joined older brother Dalton and cousin Garrett. The trio had pace throughout practice with Dalton showing the way by taking pole, with Logan in third and Garett crossing in fourth. In heat one the drivers would hold station as Dalton took the win, Logan finished in P3 with Garett on his bumper in fourth. The prefinal would be a carbon copy of the heat and qualifying as the trio kept their noses clear and maintain their order in the finish.

For the final the action would heat up as the RDD drivers looked to podium. At the finish it was Dalton with a big win crossing the line well ahead of the pack, which had battled hard all race long. Logan was able to shake himself clear the action having fell to fourth then moving back up to finish second. Contact off the start would move Garrett back in the field and he would battle back to finish fifth at the stripe.

In Rotax Junior Max Sebastian Ordonez ran a solid weekend aboard his Kart Mini M2 chassis. Ordonez would grab P2 in the qualifying and back that up with a second place finish in the heat race. In the prefinal Ordonez would battle for position and take the win to grab pole for the final. In the final the action would turn up a notch as several drivers look to lead the field. Ordonez was able to run clean and clear his way to the front taking the win after a solid battle throughout the race. 

“It was good and fun weekend for everyone at RDD,” states team principal André Serra. “I like coming to Palm Beach and the racing should be great when we head back here in February.”
