RDD MOTORSPORTS HAS HUGE WEEKEND IN BANDOLERO ACTION

South Florida-based Kart Mini team makes big impact in four-day run of NASCAR Bandolero action on East Coast.

Deerfield Beach, FL – RDD Motorsports of Deerfield Beach, Florida, the exclusive North American importer of the Kart Mini chassis, made a big splash as they jumped in at the deep end of a highly competitive 600 Racing Bandolero speedway program. Three RDD Motorsports drivers saw action in an intensive four-night string of competition. Beginning on Friday night the crew started in Concord, North Carolina, moved to Lanier, Georgia on Saturday, then back to Concord for Sunday and Monday action.

“We are very happy with the results from this weekend,” comments RDD Motorsports team manager Andre Serra. “We only have two months of experience in these oval cars and the boys did a great job adapting quickly.”

RDD Motorsports teamed up with Ronnie Basset to run Logan Sargeant and his cousin Garett Sargeant in the Beginner Bandit Class while Logan’s’ older brother Dalton, ran in the Bandit class. Both programs use the same Bandolero chassis separated only by driver age and experience. The Bandolero car is a turnkey, spec-series racer designed for drivers as young as eight years old and the young-at-heart at any age. A thumping Briggs & Stratton 570cc Vanguard engine mounted behind the driver provides the Bandolero car’s motivation. Small modifications have been made to the engine to bring the once 20HP stock engine to nearly 30HP.

Starting out on Friday night in Concord, NC, just outside the Lowe’s Motor Speedway facility, the team took to the short oval against a solid field of cars. In the final Garett Sargeant in the #1 car took the win followed by Logan in the #24 car in second.

The team then took the 300-mile trip south to Lanier, Georgia for Saturday’s action. Dalton would take second in Bandit action while younger brother Logan would take third in the Beginner Bandit classification.

Sunday would see the trek back north to Lowe’s Motor Speedway for another round of oval racing. When the night came to a close Garett Sargeant lead the way bringing home a win in the #11 Bandolero for RDD Motorsports.

Monday would be the final night of night of marathon action as the crew headed inside the Lowe’s Motor Speedway for the final round of the 600 Racing Spring Fling. Logan would take the win in his #24 while Dalton took the second step in his #11 machine.

In total the three drivers would take eight trophies including three wins, four seconds and one third, an impressive run in this new program for the young RDD Motorsports crew.

“The team will continue to prepare for the next round in a few weeks time and will continue to work on our sprint kart program,” states Serra. “The Kart Mini chassis continues to deliver strong results on the road course program, and we will focus our efforts further developing the team’s potential.”

The Kart Mini/RDD Motorsports Team will be at the next round of the South Florida R-max Challenge being held the first weekend in May at Homestead Karting.
