RDD Motorsports opens SFRC with results
South Florida-based Kart Mini team starts off Rotax qualifier with clean a sweep in two classes.
Deerfield Beach, FL – RDD Motorsports of Deerfield Beach, Florida, the exclusive North American importer of the Kart Mini chassis, started off the South Florida R-max Challenge Series with fantastic results. Round one of the SFRC was held at the Miami Homestead Karting facility on April 4th. With a freshly renovated circuit, the South Florida competition is set to kick off another great year in Rotax racing.
“We are very, very pleased with the start to the South Florida R-max Challenge for RDD Motorsports,” comments team manager Andre Serra. “With several rounds still to go, we believe our team will contest for the championship in several classes.”
In the ultra competitive Mini Max class Dalton Sargeant led the way, taking the pole in qualifying, winning the pre-final and winning the final. Dalton follows up this strong start to SFRC series after taking third place in the 2009 Florida Winter Tour championship. Daltons’ cousin Garrett Sargeant, also on a Kart Mini in the Mini-Max class, finished in fourth place in the final classification.
Next up was the youngest RDD team member Logan Sargeant in the Micro-Max Class. Like his older brother Dalton, Logan as able to take the pole in qualifying, win the pre-final and then go on to win the final. Logan is the 2009 Florida Winter Tour Homestead Micro Max Champion.
The only Junior Rotax driver under the RDD Motorsports was Sebastian Ordonez. He would have a strong qualifying, solid prefinal and hit the podium with a third place finish.
The Kart Mini/RDD Motorsports Team will be at the next round of the South Florida R-max Challenge being held the first weekend in May at Miami-Homestead karting.
